When your Tesla is brought into our Lincoln branch for a service, we check all of the usual aspects you would expect on a conventional vehicle, such as the lights, brakes and tyre condition. It is important that the battery, tyres, brake pads & discs, cabin filters and fluids are checked regularly and maintained or replaced as per the Tesla schedule.
Regenerative braking does most of the slowing on a Tesla, so the pads and discs do less work. They last longer but are more likely to corrode or stick. Tesla recommends cleaning and lubricating the calipers every year or 12,500 miles where roads are salted in winter.
Tesla recommends a new cabin air filter every 2 years on the Model 3 and Model Y, and every 3 years on the Model S and Model X.
Tesla recommends testing the brake fluid for contamination every 4 years and replacing it if needed.
A Tesla is heavy and delivers its power instantly, so tyres can wear quickly. Tesla recommends rotating them every 6,250 miles. If the wear is uneven, we can carry out a four-wheel alignment.
The battery pack and high-voltage cabling are checked. If you are worried about range, we can also carry out a battery health check with a state-of-health report.
You get a video of what we find, sent to your phone, so you can see anything that needs attention and approve work online.

Tesla does not set a fixed annual service in the way most manufacturers do. Instead, individual items are due at their own intervals, so what your car needs depends on its age, mileage and model.

You do not have to use Tesla to keep your warranty. Under the Block Exemption rules your warranty stays valid as long as the car is maintained to the manufacturer's schedule, which is what we do, using genuine or OEM parts.
From brakes to batteries, we have the knowledge, experience and equipment to assist you. Service and maintenance repairs can be discussed and booked with our service advisors. For more complex concerns, you are welcome to speak to one of our EV technicians, so that we fully understand the symptoms and concerns you have with your Tesla.

Hybrid and electric vehicles run at voltages that are dangerous to work on without the right training and equipment. Our EV technicians are IMI Level 4 qualified in the diagnosis, testing and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles. That is the level for fault-finding and repair on the high-voltage system itself, not just routine maintenance around it.
We are also a member of HEVRA, the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance. HEVRA checks that its member garages have the right qualifications, tools and equipment to service and repair electric and hybrid vehicles.
