Here at Dack Motor Group, we have fully trained technicians capable of carrying out quality electric van servicing in our dedicated van workshop.
In comparison to a van with a conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) that has many moving parts, an electric vehicle has very few. This can result in less required maintenance. However, electric vehicles (EVs) do have very complex electrical components that can still go wrong.
When you bring your electric van, or fleet of vans to us for a service, we will check all of the usual aspects you'd expect on a conventional vehicle, such as lights, brakes and tyre condition.
An electric vehicle will not need things like oil changes, spark plugs or air filters, but it is still vital that areas such as the battery, tyres, brake pads & discs, micro filters and fluids are checked and maintained.
Your electric van service will be on a schedule as you'd expect with a regular combustion engine van. Due to fewer moving parts, the service may not take as long and can actually work out cheaper.

Charging faults, battery, motor and inverter repairs are carried out here by IMI Level 4 qualified EV technicians.
An electric van carries the weight of its battery as well as its load, and delivers its power instantly. That is hard on tyres, brakes and suspension, which is why they are checked at every service.
Regenerative braking also means the brakes themselves are used less, so discs are more likely to corrode on a van that does a lot of stop-start work.

Hybrid and electric vehicles run at voltages that are dangerous to work on without the right training and equipment. Our EV technicians are IMI Level 4 qualified in the diagnosis, testing and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles. That is the level for fault-finding and repair on the high-voltage system itself, not just routine maintenance around it.
We are also a member of HEVRA, the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance. HEVRA checks that its member garages have the right qualifications, tools and equipment to service and repair electric and hybrid vehicles.

We offer collection and delivery. There is a charge for this, which we will confirm with you beforehand. If you would rather wait, we have a customer lounge with Wi-Fi and a customer office.

No. Under the Block Exemption rules you do not have to use a franchised dealer to keep your warranty valid, as long as the vehicle is serviced to the manufacturer's schedule. We follow that schedule and use genuine or original specification parts.
