Electric cars have fewer moving parts than petrol or diesel cars, but when something does go wrong it is usually electrical, and it takes the right training and equipment to find. Our EV technicians are IMI Level 4 qualified, and we carry out high-voltage diagnostics and repairs in our own workshop in Lincoln.
That includes charging faults, battery problems and motor and inverter work, as well as the brakes, suspension, steering and tyres that every car needs. We work on electric cars, electric vans and hybrids.
Where we can, we will give you repair options rather than simply replacing everything.
To talk through a fault, call us on 01522 535840 or use the enquiry form below.
We start by reading the fault codes stored in the car. They tell us where to look, but not always what has failed.
We look at what the car's own systems are reporting, such as battery module voltages and how components are talking to each other.
We test the wiring and the parts involved. Where needed, the high-voltage system is made safe and the component is removed for testing.
You get a clear explanation of what we found and what it will cost. No repairs are carried out without your authorisation.
On-board charger, charge port and charging unit faults, including replacing a unit and coding the new one to the car.
High-voltage battery diagnostics with a state-of-health report, so you know where your battery stands.
Removing the high-voltage battery and replacing faulty modules or control units, rather than the whole pack where that is possible.
Diagnosis and replacement of drive units, inverters and DC/DC converters.
Programming and coding, ADAS calibration and wheel alignment are also done in-house, so the car does not have to go elsewhere to finish the job.
Three real jobs that show how we approach hybrid and electric faults.
Fault codes pointed to the charging system. Circuit testing and live data traced it to a failed combined charging unit, which we replaced and coded to the car.
After a body repair, we programmed a new front radar with our MG dealer-level tools, then carried out wheel alignment, ADAS calibration, a service and an MOT, all in-house.
A hybrid recovered to us with no drive. We removed and tested the high-voltage battery and found a corroded pin in the battery monitoring circuit.
Hybrid and electric vehicles run at voltages that are dangerous to work on without the right training and equipment. Our EV technicians are IMI Level 4 qualified in the diagnosis, testing and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles. That is the level for fault-finding and repair on the high-voltage system itself, not just routine maintenance around it.
We are also a member of HEVRA, the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance. HEVRA checks that its member garages have the right qualifications, tools and equipment to service and repair electric and hybrid vehicles.
We look after most makes of electric and hybrid vehicle. These are the ones we see most often.
We have MG dealer-level diagnostic and programming capability, so MG work that would normally mean a trip to the main dealer can be done here. If your make is not listed, call us on 01522 535840.
Some of our services can be booked online, and pricing will show for your vehicle. Simply enter your registration to see what is available. If you do not see what you need, use the enquiry form below or call us on 01522 535840.

Yes. Charging faults are one of the most common EV problems we deal with. We test the charging system to find out whether the fault is in the car's on-board charger, the charge port, the wiring or elsewhere, then explain the repair options.
Often, yes. We can remove the high-voltage battery and replace faulty modules or control units, rather than the whole pack where that is possible. We will tell you what the options are once we have diagnosed the fault.
Yes. If your car is still under the manufacturer's warranty, a fault may be covered by them, so it is worth checking first. Once it is out of warranty, we can diagnose and repair it here.
Yes. Our EV technicians are IMI Level 4 qualified in the diagnosis, testing and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles, and we are a member of HEVRA, the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance.
We look after most makes. The ones we see most often are Tesla, MG, Nissan, BMW, MINI, Volkswagen, Audi, Kia, Hyundai, Polestar and BYD, along with Toyota and Lexus hybrids. If yours is not listed, call us on 01522 535840.
Yes. We carry out high-voltage battery diagnostics and give you a state-of-health report. It is worth doing if your range has dropped, or before buying or selling a used electric car.
Yes. We diagnose and repair full hybrids, plug-in hybrids and mild hybrids, including high-voltage battery faults.
It depends on the fault and the vehicle. Contact us with the symptoms and we will explain what the diagnosis involves and what it will cost before we start.
Yes to both. Courtesy cars are available, so please ask when you book. Collection and delivery is available for a charge, which we will confirm with you beforehand.
